Develops the training of doctors, researchers, students
>>> Provides health professionals – dermatologists, general practitioners, nurses, etc. – and students with free yearly trainings on chronic inflammatory skin diseases and rare skin diseases ex: 20 « experts » webinars and 33 fundamental courses on chronic inflammatory skin diseases since 2021.
>>> Enables discussion on rare clinical cases at international level through collaboration with a secure platform service developed by OMNIDOC.
>>> Funds dermatology research (mobility grants for young healthcare professionals) through a charitable initiative launched by Brain Impact Neuroscience for the benefit of the René Touraine Foundation. This initiative uses sport, specifically running, to support research. Launched last March, it will conclude on October 25th with the Lille Marathon.

>>> Provides free access to more than 400 articles on the diagnosis and management of dermatological diseases as well as treatments & medical devices for healthcare professionals and more than 150 articles adapted to patients and the general public: 1 new chapter in English and 4 new chapters (in French) for healthcare professionals launched in January 2026.

>>> 8th world congress on chronic inflammatory skin diseases in July 2025 (SPIN2025);
next edition in 2028.
>>> 3rd world congress on rare skin diseases (WCRSD 2026) with experts from around the world on July 1-3, 2026.

Improves access to care for all patients with chronic inflammatory diseases and rare skin diseases
>>> Helps patients find the right specialist thanks to an interactive worldwide map of expert medical centres in chronic inflammatory skin diseases.
>>> Will soon make available a directory listing resource services for patients with rare skin diseases on the Fondation René Touraine website.
>>> Helps patients better understand their disease through “Therapeutics in Dermatology“, a website with articles written by the best specialists on 330 diseases and their management and 72 on treatments & medical devices

Increase awareness of rare skin diseases
>>> Through the publication, this November, of an art book dedicated to rare skin diseases, thanks to a crowdfunding campaign. The art book is the culmination of ten years of drawings created for the « The Story of My Skin » competition, organized by the René Touraine Foundation since 2015. Conceived as a cultural and educational tool, the book aims to showcase rarely depicted experiences and promote a better understanding of rare dermatological diseases, appealing to both the general public and professionals in the health and cultural sectors.

We decided to extend the original deadline for our contest until the end of May, in order to receive even more submissions to display in the artbook ! Your work may end up inside of this project, so please share the information around you or send us your art if you haven’t done so already !
Note to artists : we warmly encourage you to scan your art instead of taking a picture if possible, or even better to send it directly through postal mail. We also invite you to send us a commentary or a few words explaining your work, as it will be in any case something we will ask if your submission is accepted for the book.
